The Student Recreation Centre hosted on 5 October, the Mercadona IT Hackathon, an intensive day in which teams of students from the Polytechnic University of Valencia face real technological challenges proposed by professionals from Mercadona IT.
The event, organized within the framework of the Mercadona IT – UPV Chair, aims to bring students closer to the reality of working in high-level technological environments, encouraging teamwork, creativity and problem-solving in real contexts.
During 12 hours of uninterrupted activity, the selected teams work side by side with industry professionals in the Sala Ximo Mora of the Student Recreation Centre, competing for prizes such as a curved Dell screen drawn among the participants, and other gifts.
The Hackathon is part of the activities promoted by the new Mercadona IT Chair, created in collaboration between Mercadona and UPV to promote the formation of technological talent and the connection between academia and company.
