The Student Recreation Centre has spaces for silent study, group work and computer use with printing. They are open to the whole university community during the building’s opening hours, with no booking needed unless stated otherwise.
Silent study room
On the first floor, where most of the study spaces are located, you will find a large silent study room designed for individual study, with 118 seats.
It is a silent space: if you need to talk or work in a group, use the leisure area on the ground floor or book a room.
Computer room and printing
Also on the first floor, the computer room has 30 computers connected to the internet with the full Microsoft Office suite.
The computers are connected to two multifunction machines (printer, photocopier and scanner) with a prepaid printing system. If it is your first time printing, ask at the Information Desk how it works.
Sala Ximo Mora
On the second floor is Sala Ximo Mora, a large room with a covered terrace and 20 large tables. It is designed for group or individual work, and also for exhibitions and conferences.
During extraordinary exam-period openings it has been used as an additional silent study room.
Working in a group
- Ground-floor leisure area: an open space where you can work in a group, plug in your laptop, eat or chat without booking.
- Meeting rooms: the meeting room (25 chairs), the Las Peceras rooms (40 chairs) and the Salas de Grados (seminar rooms for 30 people, with projector and PA system) are booked through room booking. You will find the full description of each room under Facilities.
- Associations room: workspace reserved for the associations hosted at the Centre. More information under Associations.
Extended opening during exams
During exam periods the Student Recreation Centre extends its hours to offer a place to study by day and by night. In previous years the building has stayed open 24 hours a day during the December and January exam weeks, and Sala Ximo Mora has also opened around the clock as an additional silent study room.
